31 Ogos 1957

Hari ini ialah tahun ke-52 Malaysia sudah merdeka. Sekarang, macam mana negara saya? Masih sama?

Bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita roboh.

Selamat Hari Merdeka ke-52, Malaysia.

Today is the 52nd year Malaysia has been independent. Now, how fares my country? Is it still the same? Has it change much? Has it change?

Various things have happened; the pleasant ones, more so the horrid ones. However, although I am not able to celebrate this noble day in my motherland, I still celebrate it in my own way.

Because wherever I go, I am still proud to be a Child of Malaysia.

United we stand, divided we fall.

Happy 52nd Merdeka Day, Malaysia.

It's been ages since I last wrote in BM, except for this one time I ended up chatting totally in BM with some friends on MSN for about 45min, and that was with tons of slangs and short-forms. Nonetheless, it was fun writing it in BM again. Though I should brush up on it...

Anyway, shall close this with one of my favourite Lagu Patrotik (patriotic song).

15Malaysia

If you haven't check it out, you should...

15malaysia.com

All the videos are short 3-5 minutes clips, but they say a lot about our Malaysia; the people, the culture, discrimination, racial issues, etc.

So far there's 4 videos out already (new vids are released every 2-3 days), but two of them really hits the centre, hard.

"Chocolate" by Yasmin Ahmad

"House" by Linus Chung

Check out the other links from the site too, such as 47MALAYSIA, which contains other inspiring and thought-provoking clips. Well, actually films. Or short films. =]

Also, those films (and others, including "The Making of..." and trailers) can be found at RedbagMusic. \o/ Peace out Malaysia!

Birthdays and Random What-nots...

So yesterday was dad's birthday, miss him. =] Last Wed was mine, and the Wed before was Hezrin's. Miss her too...

Lack of update since my first half semester went through an up and down of my life. Namely my studies. I'll have to start looking at the present now before worrying myself too much of the future. 'cause if I can't handle the "now", it's near impossible to be able to grasp the "then", or "later".

My passport reapplication application has been approved (they called yesterday), which means I'll have to go to Canberra again to apply for my new passport, which takes a day only. Thank goodness. Probably going there during mid-sem break in Sept again.

Anyway just thought I'd post some random silly pics up. I haven't been taking pics with my camera in a while. I guess I'm just concious of what pics to take, such as trying not to snap too many "cam-whoring" pics. I'm a bit iffy when it comes to snap-shots, and since my camera doesn't perform as well as my housemates' (if doesn't have a freaking non-vibration function! =_=;;), I usually let them take shots instead.

Well let's see what happened during my birthday, to start it off... Wed was simple: uni, groceries, Lifegroup and then a little celebration. I seriously need to goink pictures off them. >_>;; Then Sat was the lunch/Frisbee-picnic celebration with housemates and friends. It was fun! \o/ First time playing Frisbee... Got a nice mini China tea-set from them. ^^ Ed was nudging me in the directions of mini laptops. *cough* I wonder why... Haha~ I'm still hoping to get a DSLR though. Maybe later when I've graduated or something. We'll see...

Right... Today, managed to make the most appealing and satisfying pancake ever! Wee~ I'll have to remember to not make it too diluted. Haha~ Other times were just not thick enough. Ok, pics coming up!!!

Hehehe~ Spring rolls, potato salad, kuih, noodles... All made by housemates and friends...

Adrienne made the cupcakes, while I did the egg sandwiches. The cupcakes' decorations read "22"!!! \o/

Lastly is the most perfect looking pancakes I've ever made. Shush, I know it's easy to make. Most of my earlier ones have been not thick enough. Too much water mixture. *cough* Yes, MAPLE syrup. Hehehehe~ As for the whip cream, I think they're expired. But what the heck. As long as I don't get a tummy ache. Probably try make lap-cheong meehoon again tonight...

I realize I seldom eat rice often when I'm here... Mostly noodles or Western-ish meals. ^^;;

Life is Unexpectedly Short

So short that you won't see it coming...

An MSN title message on a friend of mine prompted me to click around.

Markus Ng

A few things ran through my head when I read about him...

His passion for Malaysia, his genuineness to improve the country, his love for God.

His age. Only 23, seeing that I'll be 22 in Aug... The closeness of our age...

Him being a primary friend of one of my close friend. Honestly, I do not know him. But knowing that he is related to someone whom I'm close with, makes quite an impact to me.

His passing was unexpected, so sudden...

Reading about the many things that he had done and achieve, his "legacy"... What will I leave behind?

It's just some things that had me thinking when I look up about him...

The World Isn't So Large...

My housemate, Salmy, has graduated and going back to Malaysia for good. Her flight's on Sunday 3pm. I'm going to miss her. It just feels so surreal, like... "Wait what? OMG! You're flying home tomorrow!!!" and going "idunwantyoutogohomeyet" feeling.

People usually realize something once they lose it. I haven't lost a friend, it's just someone leaving and going back home. We still can communicate with each other over MSN and stuffs... When you take another look, she's not really gone for good. The world seriously has become so small that with just a few clicks, you can talk to anyone from halfway around the world.

Gonna miss the times I watch anime with her and going crazy on MSN and just talking some silly nonsense... Shall miss one friend whom I go out with to do crazy stuffs or just walk and drag each other to various places, either out of curiousity or kicks. Anyhow, this is her last night before the flight tomorrow... Grabbed those last moments with a tour to Barossa Valley (along with Adrienne and some other friends) last Sunday (gosh, I'm gonna look out for Moscato!!!) and then karaoke again on Thursday...

I probably won't start missing her until I walk out of my room and go "Salmyyyyyyyyyyyyy", and then realizing just how much I miss her. I wonder if I will miss her, what with us always being online... Lolz~ Malaysian internet line can be so bad I wonder if we'll be able to chat often... ;o;

Salmy, gonna miss you... *hugs* I should be updating my post with other pics... There's A LOT of pictures to be uploaded and I'm too lazy to do them cause there's just SO MANY!!! I really wanna just link everyone to my Facebook instead... >_>;; Blogspot just doesn't upload fast enough... Fun times... Gotta sleep soon... Have to wake Salmy up early tomorrow! ^_^

Yes, CNY is coming up soon!!!!!!!! Mom's birthday too!!! *wants to get her something* ;~;

*hugs her mom from afar* (>^o^)> [MOM] <(^o^<)

Alright, shall sleep now... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz~

Who says you need a New Year resolution?

So it's about an hour pass 12am here in Adelaide and it's finally 2009. Well, somehow, I don't feel any different. Had a small celebration kind of thing over at a friend of Adrienne's (Sakura). Wasn't much, not really all those flashy stuffs but we'd some nice BBQ and those hand-held fireworks thingy for fun.

Didn't get any text messages, SMSes or other forms of wishes, other than the 6 other people who were with me at Sakura's place. Honestly, it felt just a little lonely coming back home to my accidentally-left-behind-at-home phone to find out that I didn't get a single SMS. Maybe I should text people instead of just waiting. Yup, did that.

Well, in the end everyone sends the same New Year message around. Kinda seems like a NY chain letter of some sorts. You seldom get the sincere wishes from another person anymore. *sigh* You still do, and I hope that others do too.

I miss my family and friends. Yup, it's just rather lonely this year. We all cheer and shouted "HAPPY NEW YEAR" and that's just it. Looking back at 31st Dec 2008, was it any different from any other day? Only the year change, and people get hyped up about the whole event. Then after that the passion dies down. Probably just me not having enough conviction and determination.

Was asked about "Your year ____ resolution?" question. Graduate?

"With style!" dad said... >"<

Yup. That's one... Be a better person? How better? Pray to God for His usual guidance, care and blessings? I don't know. This year's New Year is just a tad lonely for me. Maybe it's just me. There're other people who also wishes me the best of health, just that I didn't know their blessings and wishes towards me, like I do to them. Got a New Year reply from Hannah. Thanks girl... *hugs*

I'll probably stay up the whole night or maybe go outside and play the DDR (Dance Dance Revolution); it's like O2Jam but using your feet to tap and dance about the dancing pad. ^_^ Tons of fun, if you're quick with your steps. ^_~

Now, back to 2009... It's just another year. Nothing much, just like how the days and months change as time passes. I might have been hoping a little more for today's celebration. It's so... how do you say... calm... No joining the big crowd, just a small group of people getting together... *sighs*

I should be thankful for what I have now. Appreciate the things around me. Salmy's leaving quite soon as she's graduating already. One of the closest friend I have here in Adelaide whom I can talk to and have fun with. Could be just because our interests are similar... But then, there's also Adrienne...

Will stop here now... Gonna be 1.25am soon here... Has been fun. The year 2008 has seen its ups and downs of my life, but I'm glad to have gone through and experienced all the things life can give to me. ^_^ One really needs to learn to appreciate the things they have in life, because at the tick of the clock, a year has passed...

Happy New Year 2009 everyone... Much love from me...

-Liz-

ETA: As for the pics I took during my sudden span of going around places (wildlife park, beach, port, farm etc) within a week, I'll post them up when I've the time. There's just so many pics!!! XD

Melbourne Report! Day 4-5

Ok... So I couldn't help but post more pics... >_>;; Hungry too... *sobs* Will go eat lunch once I finish this... So on Tuesday Wan Jie took me to St. Kilda's beach; Yu Wan and the others were away doing some sponsorship stuffs...

Wooooooooooooo~ Awesome beach!!!

Please click for larger resolution pic, then look closer at the group standing at the deck... Yes, I didn't realize that it was Ed and his friends!!! O_O Seriously, we bumped into each other only when I was walking on the deck! Golly, the whole time I was snapping pics of that spot and I didn't realize a single thing! XD Ed's in his green hoodie.

YES! They've no railings!!! Well, only on one side though... Uwaaaaaaaaa~

St. Kilda town behind me...

I totally love this shot! ;o;

Was walking back and then I saw this! XDDDDDDD

The beach...

Another favourite shot of mine. Thanks Wan Jie!

The town itself...

OMG~ Food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! San Churro!!! Yummy dipping in white chocolate sauce. ^_^

Next day is off to Dockland!!! Yup, Waterfront City!!! Everyone came along, including Yus and Fawn...

On the train to the city... We'd Vietnamese food for lunch...

Took this shot after exiting the train station... So cool~

Me and Ed at the port...

Yus, Yu Wan and me... Awesome weather man!

Those white figures are so cute!!! I even named them... D8 Ed's with "The Branch".

Me under "The Tree"... Lolz~

Me trying to imitate "The Branch"... Hahaha~

Little birdie and the flowers? o_O Darn the dark picture... It suddenly got a little dark at that point... So... >_>;;

Ehehehe~ Yus and Ed...

Awwwwwwww~ This was so cute... Seriously, both of them were like kids... XD

Having a quick rest...

After that Ed and I saw DairyBell and head straight in to buy banana milkshake (mine), rocky ice-cream (Ed) and that pail of ice-cream (eaten by the rest). Oh, Christina bought iced-coffee ice-cream...

Done!!! I'll post the rest of the pics tomorrow... Don't wanna flood everything yet... Massive massive awesome fun!!! Now to go cook my lunch... HUNGRY~~~~~~

Melbourne Report! Day 1-3

I'll post up the pics day by day since there are just TOO MANY pics!!! XD I wish I could post all the pics here but my obsessive-compulsive-all-shots-must-pass-my-level-of-clarity (also known as "scrap that pic if it's too blur") means that not all pics are gonna end up here... *sighs* Anyhow, touched down at 1pm+ at Melbourne airport and waited for Yu Wan and her friends to come pick me and Ed up... They were sending another friend off also... Apparently, Tiger Airways terminal is separated from the first 3; they've a different route to Terminal 4. o_O At least when I flew back to Adelaide, they've less people using this airline compared to others like Virgin Blue and JetStar... Hmmm~

That aside, arrived on Saturday and rested, then Sunday church service... Ed stayed at one of Yu Wan's friend's place (Jason's, who also picked us up from the airport). My "housemates" include Christina and Wan Jie... Fawn (Yu Wan's true housemate) and Yus (another friend) came home on Tuesday evening from their Sydney vacation...

Ok then, I know... Pics!!! I just type waaaaaaaaay too much... >_>;; If possible, will try comment on the pics itself...

At Melbourne's City Square.

Me and Yu Wan trying out the jumping-in-mid-air shot. XD

At the crossroad of Swanston Street and Flinders Street, super busy! Behind us is the train station. They've tram tracks on just about EVERY roads!!!

Yu Wan with Sharon's camera...

Yu Wan and Sharon.

Yup, picnic with fries... Lord of the Fries is smackingly delicious!

This place is like one of those really vast stage-like thingy... Pretty cool...

Er... Can't remember the bridge's name... ;o;

That tall building? That's Eureka Skydeck, one of the tallest around Melbourne... ^_^

Side view from the Skydeck...

Looking at the city through one of those funny kaleidoscope thingy...

Ehehehhe~ Spying!!! The kaleidoscope is the one behind Ed... Pretty small...

Golly, this shot is just awesome!!! This is just part of the city man!!! >_<

Looking out towards the train station, the cathedral, Swanston Street and Flinders Street.

Can you find Optus and ANZ? I'm their customer... 8DDDDDDDDD Lolz~

Sunset from the Eureka Skydeck... I like the vertical pic more... =P

Melbourne nightview at the bridge. Mine and Ed's pic was too blur... TT_TT I know, I look so small in this pic to be noticed... I almost missed my own figure... D8

Night-time Melbourne!!!

The Eureka Skydeck and that bridge which I still have not find out the name yet...

That's all for the day... That'll leave at least maybe 3 more posts to blog... I might combine the St. Kilda beach with Dockland's, then one for Jell's Park and finally my second last day shots... I should probably sign up for Flickr and dump all my shots there... =_=;; Me and my paranoiac contradicting personality won't let me do it... Places like DA and Flickr are only for my best shots... Alright, now to have a battle with my inner self to see if I should post other pics later in the evening... 8D

Speaking of Melbourne, it wasn't really very cold but for the first 3 days, it was pretty chilly... Darn wind... RAWR~ Tuesday at St. Kilda's beach was sunny and just plain awesome! Same goes for Wed's Dockland trip!
